Six d.o.g.s garden

The intervention in the garden of the six d.o.g.s. cultural centre in central Athens, returns the site to its natural state. In a city that systematically builds on its fragmented open space, the 600 square metre garden supports the operation of a busy cafe and bar with a few key moves that merge with the natural setting. A wooden bar and wooden furniture, plus simple lights hanging from the trees, makes for all the equipment, allowing for a rare sense of the 'situation of nature' that is so missing in the area.  Colourful 'dressing' of select trees heightens their presence.  The garden as about space before human intervention, a place about the pleasure of nature and the appreciation of the void.
